Swim
Did
you know that swimming is one of the best forms of physiotherapy
available? This is because the body is weightless in water, but
the muscles are still being worked. There is no hard impact so
it is safe for most dogs recovering from surgery.
With
this in mind, our purpose built, heated indoor swimming pool is
ideal for those dogs who are either recovering from an injury
or after an operation, or for older dogs with arthritic limbs
as well as those dogs who just absolutely love to swim.
Our
pool is 14 metres long, 3 metres wide and ranges in depth between
1.2m to 1.5m, with ramp access in and out.
Your
dog will enjoy diving off the edge of the pool and into the water
to fetch his or her toy, or for the more serious swimmer, doing
laps.
For
you, well you can sit back and watch then enjoy a cup of coffee
or tea at our Valley View Cafe, taking
in the stunning view of the valleys.
Dog
doesn't swim?
Not
a problem....we also offer Swimming Lessons for your dogs.
Believe
it or not, not all dogs are born with the natural ability to swim.
One
of our expert staff will coach your dog in water confidence and
swimming. We also provide life vests for those who have never
been in water before and may be a little unsure.
**"LAGOON" STYLE POOL
NOW OPEN**

Picture taken
December 2007.
Because some dogs prefer a more natural environment for swimming,
the outside Lagoon style pool is designed to provide stimulation
with grass, rocks, sand and trees. It has a shallow entry
so dogs can wade in the water at a comfortable level.
It
also allows owners to join their dogs in the shallow areas (up
to the blue line) so you
can both experience the fun.
Both
the indoor headed pool and the lagoon style outdoor pool will
enable us to offer the best swimming conditions for both recreational
and rehabilitation purposes.
